Thanks Bearnie and Lars,
I will fiddle around a bit. Work a little bit on the memory
config, as well as download a new copy of v 1.70. This as I think
it said on the website that the file ought to be around 1 meg,
but my downloading stopped at around 750K. An exe file usually do not
work if it is "not complete", but it is worth a try.
Anyone that knows how to use an external editor to write
outgoing and possibly read incoming mails?
Best regards
Bjrn

I use PC-DOS 2000 too, and I can't recall any memory problems when
installing Arachne.

I have made and APM file which adds along with some other characters to
the key map. If you like I can send it to you.
As for the printing problem, here's my reply to Bernie:
I guess the problem (or advantage) is that DOS does not have any printer
drivers. At least on my HP DeskJet 690C I have the opportunity to tell the
printer which character set to use. In general, DOS use CP-437 (or 850) in
Sweden, while e-mail usually is written using ISO-8859-1. This effectively
means, that when I want to print out a mail in Swedish from Arachne, I have
to change the character set using a small utility that came with the
printer. And, to ensure I get the proper characters from DOS, I have to
switch back afterwards.
Btw, if you send a private e-mail to me or Berine, you can write in
Swedish.
And all three of us are neighbours at Tele2 :-)
