Caracter 07 is "beep" Caracter "G" is the seventh in the alphabet and ^G gives car 07. Coincidence? Most editors do not make codes below 10 so we need a trick: in QEdit I had first to press ^P and then the menu showed "literal", now car. 07 can be entered (^G). Show on the screen is a bold dot = car. 07. I made a small file just containing 5x car. 07 and named it beep.txt After: type beep.txt at the dos-prompt 5 beeps come from the PC loadspeaker. (spaces are ignored) Arachne did not beep, I never had her sound a tone by the speaker :-< Have fun, Bastiaan Zendamateurs, kijk eens op de homepage... http://home.hetnet.nl/~ba8tian/index.html -- This mail was written by user of Arachne, the Ultimate Internet Client -- Arachne V1.61, NON-COMMERCIAL copy, http://arachne.cz/
