Alright...I'll tell you what I'm trying to do... I'm trying to network two computers over a laplink (parallel) line...apparently "PLIP.COM" from crynwr is able to do this. I'd first like to test if the network is even working in the first place... I don't understand the addressing: "00:00:00:00:00:00" --- should both my computers have a different value for this? What the heck is it exactly? If it's card related...it must just be in there for compatibility if I'm simply using a null-modem cable, basically? Anyway...once PLIP.COM is installed on both systems...how would I test that it's working? I also aim to dial up to the internet (using 0x60 as a vector, and the PLIP network using 0x7E) Then I install "Internet Extender" which is meant to allow me to use the system I dialed in with essentially as a server...the system that is networked to it accesses the net through this app... http://www-acc.scu.edu/~jsarich/ieweb/main.htm Anyway, internet extender's INI file expects IP addresses as my network...like the computer i dial in as is 10.1.1.2 - and the system wanting to connect to it to get to the internet as 10.1.1.1 - but I don't know how to assign these IPs to them...since the only addresses I seemed to be able to configure with PLIP was the "00:00:00:00:00:00" etc. Can anyone clear any of this up for me? Thanks - w0rm __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo! Mail http://personal.mail.yahoo.com/
