Definitely, but THEY will never tell you how,

16 Colors IS the standard VGA mode.

Hi Christof;
Although Canadian, ATI has little else going for it.

If you don't find the documentation and software supplied with the board
to be adequate, then you are screwed. Technical information will NOT be
forthcoming. Plug n' play is the only way as far as they are concerned.

Pardon my forthrightness, but ATI is 40 miles and a short phone call away.
I was put off by their inablity to provide some simple information when I
was considering their product for use in a application requiring me to
sychronize computer video to both film and video cameras.
I said 'inability', not 'refusal'. I used Trident. (ugh)

You have two choices. The one most likely to work is to use Win9+. :((
The one you will probably want to use is to specify VESA to Arachne.

I'm currently using an ATI Rage 64 card in one of my newer computers
(because it was free) and it works in all Arachne VESA modes.
Slower by a factor of three than Matrox, but it works.

Try my video mode switch.
