Although I have a working RH6.2 Linux system, I have been fooling
around with Steven's (New Zealand) newest BASLINUX.

I like the fast booting of both DR-DOS and of BASLINUX via LOADLIN.
I also like the (new?) ability to modify the file system in
baslinux.gz to my liking (I've been able to modify /etc/fstab so
that it mounts the DOS files as I do in RH6.2) and the ability to
add an additional ramdrive for more space. LINKS also works
like a charm.

*BUT*, I have been frustrated in attempting to add additional
programs from the slakware 3.5 site. I untarred MC.tgz, JOE.tgz,
LYNX.tgz in the / directory and the files all seem to be placed
in appropriate directories but bash says "files not found". Is this
a question of path? And where do I set it? MINICOM.tgz was the
only program that ran ok, BUT wouldn't download (in spite of rz
being present in /usr/bin). When I transferred the MINICOM files
from a working later version from RH6.2, I got "file not found".

I'm, probably missing something very obvious. Anyone have any
suggestions?
