First time, after about 84 seconds, I got the index.html page back, then the
second time, I saw the message "Loading page from disk", as if it had downloaded
the desired page but not displayed it. Then Arachne crashed, leaving a
white-on-black text screen

Error loading font file g:\arachne\system\propbn2.fnt
(free memory left = 4294963520)

Then I had to reboot. I hit Reset button, though Ctrl-Alt-Del might possibly
have worked. I remember this happened once before recently with the ENS site.

What magic is in Arachne to give me so much free memory on a system with
20 MB RAM!?

G is/was a VDISK. After rebooting and re-creating the VDISK, I again unzipped
Arachne and found the font file there in the correct place.
