I don't understand.
Why should that be a "problem" as you call it?

Arachne is not open-source.
Does anyone here recommend that we not use it for that reason?

Personally, I don't care one way or another.
If I find that a particualr program is worth recomending, I do so.
(regardless of whether or not it might be "open source")
