Yep.. CD-R only. (no W)

So far as I've been able to find-out.
No DOS programs exist which will do "W".
(niether reading nor writing seems to be possible in DOS)

The UDF packet reading/writing software seems to only exist
for WinBlows, MAC v8+ and perhaps for Linux/Unix.
