  Gopher was basically a lynx-like world... but then,
so was the http of that day.  I'm sure that if Gopher 
had been allowed to be commercialized as http was, you'd 
see similar gizmos designed simply for the WOW effect.

  I think all versions of Lynx handle gopher.
