Thank you for your message. My PCI modem is a real hardware modem, but
Arachne does not seem to like it. I made a mistake in my note. The modem I
am using is an ISA 56K modem with Arachne, and that works well. I read some
of the notes. I now have Arachne running on a ramdisk. I built a couple of
batch files to unzip the files on the ramdrive, and another to zip them up
after I finish using the program. It is all quite fast, but no faster than
the connect. I'm having fun with dos, and brushing up on my dos skills.
