This is not only with Yahoo groups --- It also occurred today when I tried to sign in on my.yahoo.
For some reason, Arachne disposes of long-lived cookies, thus requiring new sign ins. This happens to particularly with Yahoo and Google preferences. Tired of this, a while back I saved COOKIES.LST to COOKIES.SAF and when either one of the cookies disappears, I merely copy cookies.saf to cookies.lst and I'm back on again. One problem that I am having with Google advanced search has occurred after they added filetype to their preference list. For some reason, Google appends, "filetype:anyfiletype" to the search terms and comes up with, "Nothing found." Deleting this from the text window on the results page and hitting enter has Google doing a proper search. Roger Turk Tucson, Arizona (Where it is co-o-o-old and rainy today!)
