Here we used to throw a key-chain or ring or one of those eight
studded jacks from a game of jacks instead of sliding some kind
of puck.  Usually we would play on a rather rough asphalt or
concrete surface instead of on a smooth surface where you could
easily slide a puck.  I have NEVER heard this game being called
any name other than hopscotch.  I wonder if the same game is played
by children of some non-English speaking European descent, and I
wonder what they call it, and I wonder if their name for it refers
to Scotland.
