I recently purchased the above modem (has the brand name Actiontec on the box) 56k Isa internal Data/Fax Modem. It seems the chips are from Lucent. It claims to work with Dos but I can't seem to get it to respond to Arachne. You are supposed to set the port and int on the modem, which I have done constantly, and I can't seem to get Arachne to recognize it, no matter what the settings. It works well with Win95. I talked with tech support (via email), but they didn't really seem to understand why it didn't work. Has anyone worked with this type of modem before and actually gotten it going?
