Ah, Michael,

Join another frustrated person!

I have a PCMCIA modem card for a laptop that ostensibly is a Lucent Venus
V.90 modem. I have yet to get it to work with Arachne and I have had it for
more than 3 years now.

Research that I have done indicates that it *may* have Rockwell chips and
*may*, in fact, be a win modem, or *may* be a hardware modem.

The manuals that came with the laptop said that I need to install the slot
and sockets software that come with the modem, but I have yet to find them on
the CDs that came with the Laptop.

Every once in a while I will spend some time on the web searching for
answers, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any.

Sorry that I can only commiserate.
