Oh, yeah?  You should see my private emails.  80% of the messages are 
of the "my BasicLinux is broke" variety.  Of course it never is broke 
(except in one inexplicable case which I blame on weird hardware).

Main problem area is servers exposed to the internet.

Sorry, it's not going to be cut-and-dried unless everyone is using
the same distribution.  Although the underlying Linux is the same,
each distro takes a slightly different approach to how it is organized
and configured.  This gives rise to a lot of trivial differences (like 
the background color), but it also extends to some rather significant 
differences in configuration.

This shouldn't be necessary.  The best way to deal with this is to 
find where the services are turn on and stop them.
