I don't know for sure, but I did hear a few weeks back that you can't download Netscape using the MSN Explorer or whatever they call their GUI.
My sister has MSN, but I think she just got her computer and I think she runs everything as it came so I can't really help you there either. Matt >Hello: > >Does anyone know if msn.com is a pseudo ISP of the type that limits >access only to the operating systems and software which they approve of? >I ask this because somebody I know got sucked into a three year contract >with msn.com and she wants to know if her ISP can be accessed with >operating systems and software that are not approved by Micro$oft. >You know how strongly they feel against such undesireable customers who >aren't buying their latest operating systems and software and who aren't >interested in downloading and installing their upgrades and who aren't >buying a brand new computer every year. > >I wonder if the brilliant systems engineers at msn.com have done >something to "fix" their ISP so as to deliberately cause the older >Windows operating systems and the older versions of MSIE to run so much >slower than they used to. As you all know, Bill Gates has cultivated >quite an obsession for wanting to "fix" any system that works. > >Sam Heywood >-- This message sent by BasicLinux > > >.
