It doesn't. The mc add-on for BasicLinux is quite a bit smaller than the normal mc. However, even if I could provide rpm functionality for BasicLinux, I wouldn't. Because it is unlikely that a RedHat binary .rpm will work in BasicLinux. There are two reasons for this: (1) RedHat was an early adopter of glibc2. It is likely that a RedHat binary will require glibc2. BasicLinux uses libc5. (2) There are significant differences in filesystem organization between RedHat-like and Slackware-like distributions. BasicLinux is Slackware-like. So, with BasicLinux you should use generic packages or packages from Slackware 3 or 4. The .rpm and .deb packages are more trouble than they are worth. BTW, the HD version of BasicLinux has a pkg command to install Slackware packages. Cheers, Steven
