Using a Unix newsreader from a shell account is *much* faster and
more efficient than the DOS NNTP clients. Or you can just use
Pine for both news and email from a shell. It smokes.

Any old DOS computer and an old version of Telix will work just
fine to get you to a local shell account if you can find one
still available.
