There are only "few" IPv4 addresses left, and IPv6 has a *HUGE*
addressspace. (32 bit compared to 128 bit)

And it also contains come very usefull stuff like IPSec (encrypted IP
connections) and QoS enhancements, ...

It will be impossible IMHO (I'm also no expert)

But transition will be slow.
Eg. important servers will have 2 IPs (1 IPv4 and 1 IPv6)

But maybe someone knows more about how the transition will proceed ?

PS: IPv6 includes some very good features.
It includes mandatory IPSec support (encrypted IP connections) and
extensive support for multicasting (IPv4 multicasting is very poor), and
many other good features like better QoS support.
