Dear list:
I have been investigating a "quirk" of the Arachne F4 function which is
so convenient to edit html.
Once again I lost a .htm document when the "save to download" screen came
up instead of the expected rendered html.

The problem turnes out to be like the dreaded email eating problem I
struggled with last year.
Being a keyboard person I rarely use the mouse for anything. The F4/F2
combination for editing html is wonderfully convenient. The trouble is
that if the mouse cursor is over an active region then it messes this
up!
Ironically, if the mouse cursor is over "save and view" button and you
hit F2 then it does not save and view. This is an example of two
positives making a negative!

Moral:
Beware the mouse pointer! Keep it out of the way if you dont use it.
