Maybe there is something wrong with your WATTCP.CFG

Mine looks like this:
======= begin c:\arachne\wattcp.cfg ====
include=path.cfg
gateway = 0.0.0.0
sockdelay=40
hostname=arachne
mss=512
======= end c:\arachne\wattcp.cfg =======

And my PATH.CFG looks like this:

====== begin c:\arachne\path.cfg =======
my_ip=204.111.28.98
gateway=204.111.21.2
netmask=255.255.240.0
nameserver=204.111.1.35
nameserver=204.111.1.36
====== end c:\arachne\path.cfg ========

I establish my TCP/IP connection by using LSPPP before starting
Arachne. Then I copy my PATH.CFG to C:\ARACHNE. The dialup process
and the copying of the configuration file may all handled by one
batch process. If your IP number is assigned dynamically, the
contents of your configuration file will be different each time you
dial up. You could use LSPPP or EPPPD and you can use whatever name
you want to be the name of the configuration file produced, as long
as it is a *.CFG file and the first line in your WATTCP.CFG says to
include whatever it is.
