I tried that, except that I put a "|" symbol between remotefile
and localfile, as indicated in the helpfile. Also I used the
"-c" parameter to indicate "blowfish" for the cipher type because
that is the cipher type that works at "sdf.lonestar.org". I'll
try to do what works for you and I'll let you know what happens.

BRB . . . .

EUREKA!!! IT WORKED!!!

I successfully copied a file from my Unix shell account to my local
DOS box. I'll bet I can do it the other way around too. I'll find
out and let you know later. Thanks for all the help. I think I
will forget about my earlier proposed experiment for now. Now that
we have discovered how the darned thing works I don't think that it
will work for using a local host to copy a remote file from one
remote host to another remote host.

Syntax I used was
"scpdos -c blowfish sheywood sdf.lonestar.org:remotefile localfile

When I entered that command it connected to "sdf.lonestar.com" and
the server presented me with the password prompt. I entered my
password and then the file copy operation happened.

I used different names for the remotefile and the localfile.

Thanks a lot,

Sam Heywood
