The "apples and oranges factor" comes into play with the versions of DOS
used for your 4 and 5 sec results vs my 3 sec.

Note that my 3 sec. was on a P150, OpenDos v7.01
And your 4 and 5 sec. were on 486dx66mhz, IBMDOS 3.30

But.... with the same system running MSDOS 6.22 you got 7 sec.

150 / 66 = 2.27
2.27 * 3 sec = 6.81 sec
(pretty close) ;-)


So, I think we can still agree that Clarence seems to have found
"the perfect Dos" for use on those older machines. :)))


BTW,
I can't get IBMDOS 3.30 to boot on my P150
("divide overflow" error message is all that happens at boot-up)
