If you boot Win to "Command Prompt Only" you get some sort of MS-DOS. If you boot normally and open a DOS window, you load the full Win including everything in the H_Key local machine|software|microsloth|winders (as it is pronounced in the Southern U.S.)|current version|run and run* keys. There can also be lots of programs and other files that are never used and at best occupy HD space.
