Howard... I've noticed over the years that list messages tend to have
their ups and downs, and we all have our pet theories over why they
occur. In my own case, although I continue to selectively monitor the
lists you've mentioned (and other similar ones), I've been largely in
lurk mode after buying and renovating a beautiful new home. But I've
also been busy with bringing to life a few wonderful old PC systems to
add to my greatly expanded "Computer Lab" space. This "lab" is now a
fairly large basement den entirely devoted to object lessons and
relics of the computing past... "where old things happen happily and
obsolete and discarded technology is treasured..." In months to come
(when time permits) I'll piece together another interesting exhibit:
someone gave me about eight or more boxes comprising a complete Apple
][e with *everything* you can imagine, hard/software + peripherals,
which will keep me busy for quite some time. All new territory for me.
Summertime has its activities beyond our computers, too, so I suspect
that might be lessening the list action. Don't worry that much about
it. It's the *new* stuff that's constantly changing. The old stuff
we've accumulated will always be there for us to conduct experiments
and amaze our friends. :-)
Have a pleasant day!
