Those are good hints, but the strange thing is that 2 computers have started a "work-to-rule" strike at the same time. I think this most likely means I have made some (not good) alteration to both. There have been comments in the past on this list re: text or background changing color temporarily while Arachne is pulling up her socks. I have never had this problem in a way that was bothersome. I may have seen some flashes of wrong color but that's all. Now, on two boxes both using Matrox millenium II vga accelerators in VESA mpde and using A1.62 on one with A1.66 on the other,(P90 and P200) I get the white text of a mail message or the mail index changing to aqua for about two seconds while something else is loading, and more obvious, a grey background of Arachne chat or even my Hotlist turns to pink for SEVERAL seconds sometimes. :(( I have NOT changed DOSs on these boxs. - Clarence Verge. -- Using Arachne 1.66 on DSL.
