Further info for anyone else experiencing this problem - so we might
track it down - I have determined that the color shift appears and
the duration coincides with the display of the green "gas-o-meter"
progress indicator for "Loading page from disk" and _maybe_ "Creating
Virtual Screen".

I have no idea yet why this color shift only occurs 10-20% of the times
that the "gauge" is on the screen, except for the remote possibility that
maybe it only happens when the "info" Arachne is loading is no longer in
the external HD cache - or it has expired from the Arachne cache.:(

BTW, when I saved this message a few seconds ago, the compose screen
border (usually silver) turned to aqua for the duration of the save
and then obviously disappeared when Arachne went to the screen I was
on before selecting "Reply". I was only in the "Compose" mode for a
couple of minutes.

Hmmm. Did it again after I saved the above addition, but THIS time the
color shift was NOT co-incident with the save, but for a shorter period
equal to the time it took Arachne to re-create the "Outbox" screen.

And ditto.

Yup againagain. Maybe I was wrong in the BTW above.
But I don't think so ...
At least I _temporarily_ have a way of re-creating the effect. <g>
