Sam,

If you do, "unrar /?|more" with the installed version of 2.50, you will see 
that UNRAR.EXE is FREEWARE.  The RAR.EXE part is shareware.

There is also a new version of RAR --- 3.00.  <www.rarlab.com/download.htm>  
There are versions [shutter] WINRAR, DOS & OS/2, and Linux.  Although the DOS 
version is named RAR32.EXE, it seems to run O.K. on this 16bit DOS machine.
