Hi list,

if this is true and Arachne 1.71 actually exists, then it is really
great and makes Arachne a first choice browser again. And IMO it will
not matter matter whether it is green or blue. I have no idea what
the colour or interface controversy is about.

I would neither need not like any 1.71 "preview" that could on the
other hand confuse Arachne beginners. But I recall that most of
Clarence's proposals were reflecting on low resource PC, low resource
video or keyboard oriented users. I think this does represent a
significant number of Arachne users. Rather than risking a djungle of
alternative releases I would however suggest to solve this in the
typical arachnoid way - ie. through add-on modules. Wouldn't it be
possible to offer an add-on packet with alternative core.exe and a
few ah files that can just be installed OVER the latest stable
release? Just leave it to the user whether he wants to install "mouse
release" or "cat release" of the spider.

Many thanks to the whole team!
Christof Lange
