Glenn,

See all the junk below? It appeared in textarea when I hit "C" to
compose a message to my MD.

Your "fix" is causing more problems than it cured ... including the fact
that the edress book isn't an active textarea where I can write or
import any text ... at least not in the "compose" screen.

Nope. Not so. I had hopes, since it was realatively simple, but ...
<BIG SIGH>

Still cannot select external editor as default.

Still have to punch a damn button to get there, and still have to have
the batch file correctly written & placed in root.

And naming the file being created as mail.tmp is pretty far from
what I envisioned ... but then you don't go to default external editor
the way I outlined either...

... so the ah/htp has already been written to screen, but any changes
made in advance, any additional corrections to top fields are lost on
return from external editor [just like normally shelling out from all
the mail htp/ah forms]

... so quoting still isn't enabled either, and that is pretty sucky

... and I'm about to go back to the setup I had, with my htp/ah files
the way I liked them, and knowing that if I really NEED the external
editor I can save the textarea to file of my name choice, shell out,
edit it, and bring it back into the htp/ah textarea after I've cleaned
it out.

Maybe the changes do some of the things I mentioned, but I don't see any
reason to test further. No quotes possible, have to redo all the
non-textarea fields upon return if any changes were made -- or remember
to only make changes after using external editor -- etc.

If you're not clear what I was trying my damndest to make clear, write
me off-list and I'll try to clarify further.
