Ron,

There is a DR-DOS program, FILELINK, that will transfer files between
computers thru either the serial or parallel ports. Also, M$-DOS 6.22 has
their version of FILELINK that they call, IIRC, INTERLNK (I will have to wait
until I get to my 6.22 machine tonight to verify).

When I wanted to move my files from my desktop to a laptop, I used FILELINK
to move them thru the serial port. I didn't have any success in moving the
files thru the parallel port, although that would be faster. Both machines
must have the same version of FILELINK and must be close enough so that you
can hit keys on both machines within a reasonable amount of time.

There are (were) also a number of programs on SIMTEL that would do the same
thing. Also, I believe that PC-Anywhere, as well as LapLink, will do the
same thing. There is also a DOS freeware program, PCREMOTE (came with PC
Magazine's, "DOS Power Tools," 2nd Edition) that will transfer files thru a
modem or let you operate a remote computer from your home.
