As the message I sent which included an umlaute in the header indicates. Arachne handes "non-ascii" charcters just fine when they are in the subject line. I'll try an "�" in both the "to" and "suject" lines of this message. Is there an umlaut enclosed in double quotes at the beginning of both of those lines when displayed by whichever mail reader you are currently using ? If not...
