Dear List: I am generally interested in the idea of writing Arachne to use DJGPP. Not because I find Arachne unstable - I very rarely get crashes with 1.70. We have a DOS train traffic control program which is actually in commercial use, and want to use more conventional memory for it to control more than 300Km of track, yet still fit within the time constraints set by the Erikson telemetry system. Thus the whole area of DOS extenders is interesting.
Kali PS We are still poking away at the Arachne 1.66 install in Monkeylinux. After pinching various files from Redhat and writing links to change file versions we have got through the error messages to a permanent black screen :-( PPS Midnight Commander is great! You can even look at things on other computers through ftp. http://www.nimnet.asn.au/~kali/
