Thanks for the estimates. I also appreciated Ron and Glenn trying to 
give me some idea of the severity of the problem. Maybe I get five
or six a week. That's all, so it's hard for me to get too upset
about it.

I do get lots of legitimate messages from hotmail and yahoo, so I
wouldn't want an ISP blocking them altogether. My ISP also offers
Postini, but I've neglected to enroll. Maybe I'd try something if
I got inundated. But then I would miss the funny variations on
the "African diplomat scam" which I think is pretty funny. I can't
believe that anyone would fall for that one. But I guess they
do now and then. But I don't see how.
