Well, list...
I tried, but...I did not "freeze" nor lockup nor have any problems
whatsoever on my computer when I clicked on Your Computer ikon
with the "//", tried it 3 times in fact...I'm running in plain
DOS 7 (Windows 95 OSR1 "a" booted into plain DOS)...note that
I did not "restart in DOS mode" but actually reset the computer,
and since I don't by default boot into the GUI (bootgui=0) and
bring up the boot menu (bootmenu=1), there is no trace of WIN.COM
anywhere in memory. Currently running Arachne 1.71 UE01 "long cookie"
release. I'll try again with 1.66 and see what happens...but I
suspect I will not freeze the system.
So, it must be something on those users computers that is distinct
from the rest of us...BTW, my "arachnetemp" is set to a RAM disk,
cache2temp=yes, DOS temp variable set to RAM disk (F:\TEMP)...
