I tried and did an install of arachne 1.71 under Linux using dosemu and MS-DOS 7.10 with partition access. The process went just fine up to the end of the install process. I risked and run Dosemu in "all shields down" mode (as root with "console video").
Arachne detected my external modem, can dial, can connect and even writes down the IP in PPP.LOG. From this point nothing gets sent to or received from the modem any more. Has anyone achieved more than this? The offline browsing functions seem to work. And now, the "Your Computer" issue. When pressing "your computer" the whole thing barfs. If I'm lucky the text mode on my consoles is restored. If I am not, I have to grope in an xterm using the SVGALIB trick described in dosemu docs to get my consoles back. Other kind of directory listing works fine I can attach the "boot.log" file created by dosemu, but I don't believe this is of much help On Fri, 13 Dec 2002 14:29:54, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > c) When I boot to the MS-DOS 7.10 system files with dosemu > under Linux (Slackware 3.5, X window): works > Christof Lange -- This mail was written by user of The Arachne Browser - http://arachne.cz/ -- Arachne V1.71;UE01, NON-COMMERCIAL copy, http://arachne.cz/
