I disagree and our Nigerian friends are an example of why. Every Nigerian span I have ever received came via the a-list ... obviously harvested for email addresses. Spam target lists are just that - targets. I predict that our Nigerian friends will soon abandon the a-list, once they discover that none of us ever respond. Of course, if they manage to sell their address list to another dummy then we'll get another round of messages (from yet another of the general's many relatives). The critical factor for getting spam is the company that you keep. If you go where spammers are lurking, they'll harvest your address. And, if you ever reply, it will be many moons before they stop writing.
