It may be the system your ISP is using. I had no trouble getting the
newsgroups, so I suspect the problem is not at MicroSnot's end.
But try the following. I've downloaded and unzipped the suggested files,
but I haven't tried anything with them as yet. See his URL at the end of

I have been doing similar with Arachne for a long time...
but I've been able to not only read, but post messages
to my newsgroup. I use M Goebbel's GetNews and PostNews,
and then use ReadMail 4.1 to read the messages. This is
ran as a BATCH program, which I copied to the Arachne
OOPS directory. While not technically "inside Arachne",
it is very configurable and fast. I have download links
for Martin's utilities on my DOS Internet page...I think
he has an updated version of GetNews (like vers 1.3) that
he says can handle more than one newsgroup at a time...
I haven't used this one, since presently I only check on
one newsgroup (sci.med.pharmacy)
If anybody wants a copy of my NETNEWS.BAT and NETNEWS.OOK
files, just dwnd an email!
