Hi List buddies! Think on this story that I first heard nearly 60 years ago...
In ancient times there stood on a highway a statue of a warrior bearing a spear and a shield. One day two travelers met by the statue and noticed how the sun shone on the polished metal of the shield. One said how beautiful was the light reflected from the golden shield, but the other said: That's not golden! It's silver! They argued for some time and were about to draw their swords and fight, when another person approached and asked what the trouble was. The first traveler said: This idiot says the shield is made of silver, when any fool can see it is gold! The second traveler said: Fool indeed! What a fool a man must be who cannot see it is silver! They were about to fight again, when the third person said: Wait! You come over here, and you go over there, so you have changed places. Now look at the shield! The travelers did as they were told and realized that the shield was gold on one side and silver on the other. Thank you, they said to the third person. Thank you for saving us from fighting over such a foolish thing. Pray tell us, what is your name? My name, said the third person, is TRUTH.... -- Arachne V1.71;UE01, NON-COMMERCIAL copy, http://arachne.cz/
