Hi
There has been discussion of Multidata technology
on the network_discussion alias, this has sparced up some
interest in getting more information on what it's all
about, so I would like to have these cases made available
to the OpenSolaris community.

The case that defines Multidata for use in Tx is...

PSARC 2002/276 "TCP Multi-Data Transmit"

A case that discusses one implementation.

PSARC 2004/181 "GLD MDT Support For InfiniBand"

There are some ancillary cases that provide a means to
negotiate capabilites up/down a stream in a safe manner
which are related to enabling/disabling Multidata.
They may offer other examples of capability negotiations
but those may already be obsolete, so may be not relevant
to the multidata discussion.

PSARC 2001/070 DL_{CAPABILITY,CONTROL}_REQ

This case is relevant because it address's the need for
everyone in the stream to be aware of an acceleration
for it to work seamlessly. This I think is worth sharing
because it did come up as something that needs to be
addressed, during the Multi-data discussion.

PSARC 2003/263 DL_CAPABILITY-ignorant intermediate module detection

It seems that folks will benefit from making these cases
open for view.
There has been patents filed on these technologies, and all
have been published and granted so are already public domain
as follows.

20030231659 System and method for a multi-packet data link
layer data transmission
7,308,000 Methods and systems for efficient multi-packet data
processing in a layered network protocol
7,269,171 Multi-data receive processing according to a data
communication protocol

Look forward to hearing if these cases will be made
available to the community.

        thanks
        Frank
