This population includes all the Sun engineers who John> are not OS.o subscribers as well as people from other FOSS efforts John> who are themselves not OS.o members. These people can still post. The post will get delayed until a moderator approves it. When the moderator approves the post, she can also add the sender to an "accept" list so that future posts by that person do not get moderated. While it would be nice to avoid the initial moderation step, I don't see it as being overly burdensome. Also, the Sun IT filters, as good as they are, are not perfect. I've gotten maybe 2 spams via an opensolaris.org list in the last couple weeks. But I've gotten 16 spams just today to my Sun inbox. That's a bit higher than average, I think, but not by much. Granted, I don't know how many of those originated from outside Sun (as opposed to being generated by an infected PC on the SWAN). But still, it does seem that moving from sender-based filtering to content-based filtering would just be trading one set of hassles for another. mike
