I don't think any of the frontends give any indication of the CPU speed. During development I'd added my own code to display the CPU speed, based around the (hopefully) accurate cycle counting that ArcEm does. I can't remember the figures I finally ended up with, but I'm pretty sure that a 720MHz BeagleBoard failed to get over 8MHz (the speed of a real ARM2). I'd be pleasently surprised if those figures of 14-20MHz are correct. It would either mean that ArcEm is very wrong, or the X fronted is much better than the native RISC OS frontend (which is possible, considering the way the RISC OS version handles screen updates).
