Hi all,

I just updated KDE to 4.1.2. Among upstream bugfixes those packages should fix
problems with missing icons of KDE apps in Gnome's menu and missing mim-types
which results in non working java plugin for example. The archlinux-menu is
shown in its own categorie now and most apps depend on kdebase-runtime now.
This should solve the problems people had when using some kde apps from inside
Gnome for example.

I also added a group of packages called kde-extragear containing the
following:
        guidance-power-manager
        kcoloredit
        kfax
        kgrab
        kgraphviewer
        kiconedit
        kio_gopher
        kmldonkey
        konq-plugins
        kopete-cryptography
        kpovmodeler
        skanlite
Those packages are released with every KDE update but are (no more) part of
the KDE core distribution.

The next KDE release will have an kde-l10n group which makes it easy to
install all localizations.

A note for those who wonder why this release is not announced at kde.org:
KDE-4.1.2 was tagged in svn at Septembre 24th and source tarbals were
available since 25th. The official announcement will be next week. The delay is
used to give all the distros and other platform maintainers time to build
those packages; and of course to find some last minute build problems. Or in
other words: No that's no unoffical pre-release or RC etc..

However there might be a new release of kdegraphics due to doname bump which
might not be wanted within a bugfix release. That change was made to be able to
build digikam on KDE-4.1; so that change might be delayed till 4.2. Anyway:
Most people are not affected by this.

Greetings,

Pierre
