New xorg-server 1.5.3 needs to ahve evdev as a dependency, I just upgraded last night, and after restarting X it froze as hard as to require a hard reboot. Testing what it should have been I experienced hard lockups only when X was started, when I checked the logs Xorg was spitting out errors about evdev module not bein found. So I guess evdev needs to be a dependency.
