Hi,This will not be happening until the release of python-2.7 (scheduled for late June). Given that is going to be (or at least is most likely to be...) the last major python2 release, it will be a good time to transition towards python3 usage.
I have made notes at http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:Python_Todo_List outlining how the transition will occur. Any comments are welcomed.
