With xorg-server hitting the extra repository, Catalyst drivers provided by AMD are no longer functioning due to an ABI change. In order to not cause fragmentation of repos, and the lack of reactivity of AMD, the choice has been taken by consensus to remove these drivers from the official community repositories. Alternatives provided by the community of our users aren't missing (1), as well as drivers provided by the Mesa project (2).
