now wifi works fine with intel-ucode 20220510-1, also after cold and warm
reboots. So the subject of this thread is not true and my hardware is failing
occasionally.

Best I can tell, this firmware (iwlwifi-6000-4.ucode.xz) has not changed since
June 3 2011 - so whatever is happening seems pretty unlikely to have anything
to do with the linux-firmware package.
