Hello,

I apologize if this bug should have been reported to bugzilla.kernel.org
instead, and I apologize if I fail to provide the needed info. I will try to
provide a simple, concise, detailed report, but this is my first time ever
reporting a bug, so I apologize in advance.

Hardware: MSI laptop with a intel 12700H CPU and a rtx 3060 laptop GPU.

Issue: system hangs on boot, stuck at "loading initial ramdisk...". The system
shows that screen, then the screen goes black for a second, then goes back to
that same screen and does not boot. On some instances, it does boot after
forcing reboot (through the laptop power button), though not always. I couldn't
determine what exactly made it work some times and not other times.

Kernel(s) the issue happens on: linux 7.1.4; linux 7.1.5 (not compiled, not
linux-lts or any other variation).

Kernel parameters tried (on /etc/default/grub, running mkinitcpio -P and
grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg): nvidia_drm.modeset=1; pcie_aspm=off;
nvidia.GSP=0 (though, apparently my system does not support disabling GSP, so
that is probably useless).

Kernel parameters I have had on: "loglevel=3 quiet apparmor=1 security=apparmor"

Nvidia driver: nvidia-open 610.43.03

Downgrading to 7.1.3-arch2-2 kernel fixed the issue.

Shutting down normally (not through the laptop power button) does not fix the
issue.

Pressing e while on the grub menu and including 'nomodeset' does make the
system boot (though, of course, with the performance issues expected
(especially being on wayland)).

I tried updating back to 7.1.5 without editing the kernel parameters and the
issue came back, after having been fixed by downgrading to 7.1.3. The issue
started with kernel 7.1.4 and is still present on kernel 7.1.5. Downgrading
back to 7.1.3-arch2-2 fixed the issue again, showing that the issue probably
lies within something related to the kernel, as nothing else (kernel
parameters, apps, daemons, etc.) was changed.

I don't know if I have forgotten or missed any important info. If there's any
other info needed (or any other tests that I could do) and that I may be able
to provide, please, feel free to ask!

Thank you!
