Hi,

was a firmware update for the motherboard included in the updates?

Apparently, it's possible to update the motherboard firmware for some
models from Linux these days. I have no idea how automatically, or even
if at all, this can be done, so I thought I ask about it. I don't do it
myself using Linux.

The manufacturer of my motherboard has started automatically enabling
"Secure Boot" after firmware updates. For me, this results in an endless
loop, so I keep ending up back in the firmware menu. After that, you
have to exit "Deploy Mode" before you can actually disable "Secure Boot"
again, and then you can either switch back to "Deploy Mode" or leave it
as is. Of course, the manufacturer's support team isn't aware of this
problem, but fortunately, so many people are affected by it that, even
if you start off on the wrong track, you'll stumble upon the solution.

Even if it were something else, if it were related to a Linux boot
loader, I would actually expect some kind of response or the system to
hang, rather than returning to the firmware menu.

Regards,
Ralf
