Actually we have 6 and 3 happen to be in the US. The others being in HK, UK, AU. When you requested to be added to the mirror list you provided all those direct addresses to us [1] and I believe this to be a good thing since it allows us to track each mirror's update delay and request time [2] and users can choose the one that actually works best for them (there is a script users can run to rank mirrors based on ping/dlspeed).
